Keeping up with the
recent trend of education the
Computer
Department was established in the year 1992, on the 4th
floor of the new building of St Xavier’s High School by Fr. Francis
D’Mello s.j. |
|
|
|
|
|
Under the Leadership of
Fr.
Evarist Newnes s.j. as Manager of school, Fr. Joaquim Mascarenhas s.j.
as Principal, the department started for the secondary school with 15
computers and 3 staff, Mr. Leon Lobo, Ms. Suma Menon and Mr. Shirish
Gade. |

|
Fr. Herman
Castelino s.j., who headed the school as its principal from 1993,
upgraded the lab facilities to Pentium family. |
|
|
|
|
|
A further addition of 15
Pentium computer came under the tenure of the current principal
Fr. Baptist
Pinto s.j., thus totaling the number of computers to 30, thus
allowing facilitating one student per computer in a practical session.

|
|
|
|
Still with three able
staff,
Mr. Shirish
Gade, Mrs Amita Abhyankar and Mrs. Deepa Gaitonde, the students are
taught LOGO, OFFICE 2000, HTML, WEB PAGE DESIGNING AND PAGEMAKER 6.5. |

|
|
|
The school staff and
students use the computer lab facility for their
PowerPoint
presentations for assemblies, lessons, printing school reports and
various science projects |
|

|
