The entry point for students seeking admission to St. Xavier’s High School, has been for over a century the 1st. Standard, in the Primary Section. However, over the recent decades, education has filtered down to a stage in which even toddlers wish to have a go at the formal learning. Xavier’s too, finally joined this band-wagon, and started its Pre-Primary, Higher kindergarten in 2000. This was on an experimental basis in the first year with only two divisions. However as of 2001, there are four divisions with 45 students in each.

Over six hundred candidates apply for the 180 seats and selection is quite a nightmare both for parents and the selecting staff. The students are a happy lot of four year olds and emphasis is laid on spoken English.

During the course of the year there are sightseeing tours to different places like Kamala Nehru Park, the Taraporewala Aquarium, the Zoo as well as a Sports Day, Fancy Dress, Group Elocution and Choral Singing. Different Feasts of the year find prominence in the school calendar. The year comes to an end with the Annual Appreciation Day, which sees all the children on stage, in different roles, much to the joy and satisfaction of parents.

The Lord blessed us with work and not burdened the work.
