Singing Competition & Govt Art Exams

The singing competition for the secondary school was held on 6th January. More than 120 students went through the qualifying rounds.
Take a look at the students who appeared for the Elementary and Intermediate Art Exams.
It is heartening to see young Xavierites participating wholeheartedly in extra-curricular activities.

Xavierite gathering with the Chief Minister

4th January evening witnessed a unique gathering of ex-students of St Xavier's High School, Fort hosted by Mr Vijay Chhabria ( 1975 batch alumnus ). Prominent among them was the Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Ashok Rao Chavan ( an alumnus himself ), Mr Adi Godrej, Mr Deepak Parekh, Mr Ajit Gulabchand and a host of other eminent Xavierites who have made a mark in the nation building process. The program was held to felicitate the honorable Chief Minister and to share thoughts on the 140th anniversary of St Xavier's High School.
The Principal Fr Baptist Pinto briefed the gathering about the present day situation and the projects undertaken to restore the past glory of that great institution. The Chief Minister won the hearts of the gathering with his enthusiasm, his generosity and down to earth approach in all things. Mr Adi Godrej stressed the need for forming an advisory committee and move forward. Xavierites of various batches ( some from the 1940's ) shared fond memories of school days and thoroughly enjoyed the companionship of fellow Xavierites. All this happened in the delightful ambience of the Sea Side Palace hotel terrace ( near the Taj ) owned by the Chhabria's. It was a truly memorable event that certainly provided a new dimension and vision to create Xavierites who shall be the future legends of the country!

1984 Batch Re-union

The 1984 ( Silver Jubilee ) batch had a nostalgic re-union in the school hall on 27th December 2009. Classmates came from all over the world and shared vivid memories of their school days. The theme was THEN, NOW and FOREVER..... That's the spirit boys.... Long live St Xavier's!

Christmas Play

Fun-Fair

The Fun-Fair was a huge success with every standard putting up a Food Stall and a Games Stall. The Teachers , the PTA members and the boys worked hard to make the event a very enjoyable experience. Thank You to the parents for the support and the Class IV workers for the manual labour involved.

Tribal Students visit St Xavier's

Aptitude Testing for Std 10

Sports Day

St Xavier's conducted its Sports Day with the usual enthusiasm and lively spirit on Saturday, 7th November 2009 at the University satadium. The Chief Guest was Mr Percy Rustomji and the Guest of Honour was Mr Saurabh Shah both from the 1981 batch that contributed so much towards the extension of the Computer Laboratory. The announcers Mrs Betty Fernandes & Mrs Elaine Fernandes and all the teachers in charge of the various duties did a fine job. Three cheers to the Sports Director Mr Alex Fernandes and the P.T. teachers Mr Dilip Correia and Mrs Margaret Acharya ! And of course HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners.....and to the TILAK HOUSE!

Extension of Computer Laboratory

We now have 60 computers in the secondary section. Thanks to the 1981 batch that got together and contributed a handsome sum towards this project. This will enable our boys to get the maximum benefit of the computer world and the internet.
